 Red Feather Lakes is not a misnomer. Located just off of Poudre Canyon Road, Pingree Park is a maintained dirt road that connects Highway 14 to the Colorado State University Mountain Campus. The Stillwater area next to the town of Grand Lake has miles of trails for off-highway vehicle (OHV) enthusiasts. Located along the Cache La Poudre River along Colorado Highway 14. The Superstition Wilderness has a ton of additional camping options, including dispersed camping and boondocking as well as backpacking. Unless you have a 44 vehicle, its important to access Schnebly Hill Road (Forest Road 153) from I-17 rather than from Sedona itself to avoid the roughest parts of the road. The most popular dispersed camping area near the Grand Canyon is Forest Service Road 688, located just 10 miles south of Grand Canyon Village.This is a wonderful place to camp with approximately 20 campsites located on a well-graded road.
